JVC's GY-HM750 is built with the same compact shoulder form factor as other HM700 series camcorders, but offers enhancements and features not available on earlier models:
- The GY-HM750 is based on an upgraded 3rd generation digital processing engine that improves overall picture quality and provides the ability to record either HD or SD directly to economical SDHC solid state media.
- Dual hot-swap memory card recording can now take place on both cards simultaneously, or individually for virtually unlimited recording time.
- The 68-pin chassis connector now permits a growing number of expansion modules such as the KA-AS790 DVB-ASI adapter
- Pre-rec (retro) cache has been increased to 20 seconds
Like other "HM" series models the new 750 is a full resolution HD progressive camera well suited for demanding ENG and EFP applications.
Modular Design
The GY-HM750 is equipped with a 68-pin chassis connector that allows various modules to be attached to the unit without external cabling. JVC presently offers a DVB-ASI module (KA-AS790G) and an SxS Memory Card recorder (KA-MR100G). Modules are installed to the rear panel chassis connector, and are powered directly by the camera. No additional cabling is required. Modules effectively become part of the camera with no unsightly exposed cables. This design also provides for future expansion. Note: Fiber and Multi-core modules specifically designed for the GY-HM790 utilize advanced features of the HM790 and are not compatible with the GY-HM750.
